Since starting the Full scope electrician course in February I have been working thorugh the Books, online material and completing the TMA’s as often as I can manage around working full time as a prison officer. I was also getting hands on experience on my days off with a couple of friends in the trade. One day in the jail restraining a ‘problem’ prisoner I tore my bicep off so that put an end to any hands on practical experience which I really felt was a blow to my plans of a career change but then being signed off work while I was in a cast and brace I am able to spend literally all day everyday working through the course, so every cloud! I have achieved excellent marks on each TMA, I’ve just completed TMA 14 and working my way through the Smartscreen material and hopefully I will be able to get my practical sessions booked in soon and also start back with friends learning the trade from them to. I am absolutely obsessed now and won’t let this set back affect my goal!
